No Expiry:

A portrait series about sexual abuse, and time.

I met with strangers, responders to my ads inviting survivors of sexual abuse or assault to come have a chat. While we talked, I took three photos:

Small talk. The cause. The effect.

No Expiry is a portrait series / photobook comprising the photos from these conversations, shot between 2019-2023 in both London and Edinburgh. The accompanying words are the participants’ own.

“Look into my eyes and dare to ask me again if I’m lying.” –Caterina Puddu

The final work presents 33 of the participants as a series of tryptiches. Though some of our conversations lasted hours, no other record of the sessions exists beyond the photographs, and whatever words they chose to supply to accompany them (if indeed they chose to supply any at all).

“…He told me you wouldn’t believe me. I forgive you…” — Heather
