NoExpiry: Participate
If you’re a survivor of sexual abuse with a story to share, NoExpiry needs you.
How it works is simple:
- You and I meet somewhere quiet, have a cup of tea, and a chat.
- We’ll share our stories, during which I’ll snap a handful of shots with a beautiful vintage medium format camera.
- After our chat, I’ll invite you to contribute a few words – the sentence or blurb that will accompany your photographs in the final series.
That’s it. Almost:
- Wherever NoExpiry sessions take place are always a safe space – whatever is said between us will not leave the room without your permission, ever.
- I am male; if this is in any way a concern for you, and you’d prefer having a friend along (or a non-male member of my team), that’s totally fine with me.
- This project isn’t about gender, race, age, or any other cultural divider. Survivors are survivors, and all are welcome.
- I’ll need your real name on a standard release form, however I don’t mind if you’d prefer to remain anonymous (or use a pseudonym) in any public presentation of the final series.
- Having said that, you will need to be ok with me photographing your face. No hiding, shadows, or additional coverings you wouldn’t normally wear day to day.
Where and when?
While this project began life in London back in 2019, I’m now based in Edinburgh, focused on finding people in and around Scotland and The North. You’re welcome to visit my place in downtown Edinburgh, or meet anywhere (Glasgow, Newcastle, etc) I can get to via public transport. Having said that, I’m happy to travel anywhere I can reach via a return-same-day train (even London), so don’t be shy if you’re further afield!
